4th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CLIMATE SERVICES

Francisco Beltrame, with the director of Gabriel Pisciottano Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology, Ing. And Director of Environmental and Occupational Health, Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Carmen Ciganda is performed the opening of the 4th International Conference on Climate Services, which took place in Montevideo from 10 to 12 December.
Besides the authorities, involved 170 experts from 31 countries during the three days as the main topic discussed information systems for decision making, and a number of issues such as health, water, disasters, grazing land management and evaluation of services climate.

The minister recalled that 25% of the wealth generated in Uruguay -evidenciada in the crude product Internal- is generated directly by agricultural and agro-industrial activities.
Meanwhile, said that in the last ten years quadrupled the value of exports of goods and agro-industrial products account for 78% of total exports.
“Agricultural activity is crucial to the national economy and climate is crucial for farming,” said Tabaré Aguerre.
